Colorado's housing landscape is facing a deepening affordability crisis that threatens stability for low-income residents in communities across the state. Over the past decade, the erosion of affordable housing has accelerated. Escalating living costs combined with the rapid loss of affordable housing inventory are significantly increasing the risk of displacement, destabilizing communities, and perpetuating economic hardship.
There is a great need to channel increased and more supportive resources into preservation. Small to medium multifamily buildings — ranging from duplexes to 49-unit buildings — are a key segment of the housing market to consider for affordability preservation.
